A CENTENARIAN, HIS EMINENCE THE NATIONAL CHIEF IMAM AND GRAND MUFTI OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA, SHEIKH PROF. NII AFLOSO I SHEIKH OSMAN NUHU SHARUBUTU CONDEMNS RECENT TERRORIST THREAT ON THE HOLY CITY OF MEKKAH

“Verily, the first House of worship appointed for mankind was that at Bakkah (Makkah), full of blessing, and a guidance for all of creation”. (Quran 3: 96)

“I swear by this city (Makkah). And you, [O Muhammad], are free of restriction in this city. (Quran 90: 1-2)

“And this City of security.” (Quran 95: 3)

In the context of the above words of Allah, His Eminence the National Chief lmam and Grand Mufti of the Republic of Ghana, Sheikh Professor Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, has learnt with great shock the recent cowardly attempt to detonate an explosive device aimed at killing innocent Muslims in the Islamic Holiest shrine of Ka'abah in the Holy city of Makkah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Obviously, this act of terrorism has failed, and any future plot to destroy the Holiest shrine is bound to fail again because Almighty Allah is the Supreme Guardian and Protector of all the Holy Shrines.

As a result of this unfortunate development in Saudi Arabia, His Eminence the National Chief lmam reiterates his condemnation of all barbaric acts of terrorism in recent times.

These include the recent terrorist attack on innocent Muslim worshippers in a Mosque at Christchurch in New Zealand and other countries around the globe where Muslims are being treated unfairly because of their religious belief and minority status.

In recognition of human dignity, nobility, and equality, Allah says:

“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing and Acquainted." (Quran 49: 13)

“Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly." (Quran 60: 8)

“His Eminence the National Chief Imam therefore calls on all Muslims around the globe to remain steadfast to their religious beliefs and obligations and NOT succumb to the threats of elements of terrorism and destruction.

Long live the Islamic Religion.

Long Live the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Holiest Shrines.

Long Live the Republic of Ghana.
