Ghanaian Muslim Stakeholders Committee (GMSC)

His Eminence the National Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Prof.
Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, yesterday Wednesday 22nd July 2020, summoned the
Stakeholders Committee to discuss and deliberate over the forthcoming Eidul
Adkha celebration in Ghana.
It was unanimously agreed by all the stakeholders that the
“Status Quo” must be maintained, i.e. small and medium size Mosques should
observe strick Covid-19 protocols when observing the Eid or any congregational
prayers such as Jumuah or the five dailys. Large size mosque with capacity of
over 100 people should be discouraged from congregating and holding any mass
prayers or the Eid.
The Stakeholders Committee was formed some few years ago to
create a unique platform for His Eminence the National Chief Imam and his
advisory board to meet, interact and take policy decisions with the major
Islamic sects and bodies in Ghana.
Members of the Stakeholders include but not the least; the
Tijjaniya Muslims of Ghana (TMG), the Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jamat (ASWAJ), the Shia
Muslim Community, the Ahamadiyya Muslim Mission of Ghana (AMM), the Ghana
Muslim Mission (GMM), the Federation Muslim Council (FMC), the Coalition of
Muslim Organizations of Ghana (COMOG) and the National Council of Zango
Chiefs.
The Committee respects and welcomes the opinion of
Muslims and non Muslims and invites suggestions and recommendations on all
matters relating to Islam and the development of the Muslim Community. You may
reach the committee at the residence of His Eminence or the ONCI through officeofnationalimam@yahoo.com
It’s amazing seeing Ahamadiyya, Shiah, Ahlu Sunnah and
Tijjaniya Muslims meeting and discussing matters of the Deen on one-table in
peace and harmony. Long live Islam.
Eidul Adkha falls on 31st July 2020 and it’s a holiday in
Ghana.
Long live His Eminence.
Long live Ghana.
